Getting started

Onebase brings your whole business into one place — customers, quotes, the jobs out in the field, your stock and your people. Instead of five systems that don't talk to each other, everything hangs off the same customer and the same job. Here are the modules an electrical contractor uses most, and the first steps to get going.

The modules

  • CRM (customers) — your contacts and companies, with the history in one place: which quotes they've received, which jobs are done, and what you've agreed.
  • Quotes & Oppdrag (jobs) — the day-to-day work. You usually start with a site visit (befaring), build a quote (or an estimate), and when the customer says yes it becomes a job (oppdrag) with checklists, hours and materials.
  • Inventory — products and goods with stock levels. When you add materials to a job, they're drawn down from inventory automatically.
  • HR — your employees, certifications, absence and holiday. Each employee has their own "Me" area for what's theirs.

The first steps

You get a long way with five steps, in this order:

  1. Add your first customer. Go to Customers and create a contact or a company. This is the anchor everything else hangs off.
  2. Record a site visit. Schedule and document the befaring on the customer — what you see and measure on site is the basis for the quote.
  3. Build a quote. Build the quote from the site visit, with lines for labour and materials. Send it to the customer for approval.
  4. Turn the quote into a job. When the customer says yes, the quote becomes a job (oppdrag) you plan, log hours and materials against, and complete with checklists.
  5. Invite your team. Go to Settings → Members and invite your colleagues. They get their own access, and the work can be shared out.

Where to find things

Each module has its own entry in the left-hand menu. If you need a quick answer on where something lives or how a feature works, ask the Onebase assistant in the help panel — it points you to the right screen. It doesn't read your data and makes no changes; read more on the Onebase assistant.

If you want AI that actually reads and works in your data — like "show me my open jobs" or "draft a quote" — you can connect your own Claude to Onebase. See Connect your own AI.
